Zuerst war 400m-Läuferin Susanne Gogl-Walli in der Ataköy Arena an der Reihe, die die Serie ihrer großartigen Auftritte mit Rang 4 und neuem österreichischen Rekord im Finale abschloss. Dann stand ihr 60m-Sprinter Markus Fuchs nicht viel nach, er beendete den Endlauf mit erneuter PB als toller Siebenter. Für beide war es ihr erstes Finale bei einer großen Meisterschaft.
Gogl-Walli unterbietet 44 Jahre alten Rekord und wird großartige Vierte
Für Susanne Gogl-Walli (TGW Zehnkampf-Union) war die gesamte Hallensaison schon perfekt verlaufen, sie hatte sich im Vergleich zum Vorjahr über 400m um über eine Sekunde gesteigert. In Istanbul zeigte sie bisher zwei sehr starke Vorstellungen und zog souverän ins Finale ein. Und auch dort zeigte die Oberösterreicherin, dass sie bei ihren dritten Hallen-Europameisterschaften im Konzert der ganz Großen mitspielen kann. Auf Bahn 4 laufend absolvierte sie eine sehr flotte Startrunde, ging bei Halbzeit des Rennens mit ihrer bisher schnellsten Zwischenzeit von 24,20s durch, musste aber dann eingangs der dritten Kurve etwas nachlassen und sich hinter Lada Vondrova (CZE) auf Position fünf einreihen. Österreichs Leichtathletin des Jahres 2022 drückte aber auch auf den zweiten 200m weiter aufs Tempo und konnte sich auf der Zielgerade innen noch an der Tschechin vorbeischieben. Mit sensationellen 51,73s pulverisierte die die 26-Jährige nicht nur ihre bisherige PB um 44/100s, sondern auch den 44 Jahre bestehenden ÖLV-Rekord von Karoline Käfer um 17/100s. Mit Rang 4 feiert Gogl-Walli sicher den größten Erfolg ihrer Karriere, die Steigerungen in der Halle sollten auch in der kommenden Freiluft-Saison einen großen Schritt nach vorne möglich machen.
An der Spitze war Hallenweltrekordlerin Femke Bol (NED) in 49,85s ungefährdet, dahinter holten Lieke Klaver (NED) mit 50,57s und Anna Kielbasinska (POL) mit 51,25s Silber und Bronze.
„Es war schon die Finalteilnahme ein großer Traum von mir den ich mir erfüllt habe, mit dem Lauf im Finale bin ich einfach überglücklich. Mit dem Rekord hätte ich sicher nicht gerechnet, ich bin einfach happy hier heute mit den besten Europas gut mitgelaufen zu sein, dass es der Rekord wurde ist wirklich unglaublich. Jetzt genieße ich einmal den Moment und freu mich über die abgelaufene Saison, über alles andere mache ich mir erst morgen Gedanken.“
Trainer Wolfgang Adler: „Ich habe der Susi vorher gesagt, ich bin überzeugt, dass sie eine 51er-Zeit laufen kann und das hat sie heute auch draufgehabt. Über eine Medaille zu spekulieren wäre heute aber etwas zu hoch gegriffen gewesen. Den perfekten Lauf gibt es selten, vor allem nicht in einem Finale, aber es war schon ein sehr, sehr guter Lauf von der Susi. Wir konnten jetzt zwei Jahre kontinuierlich arbeiten, wir haben verschiedene Aspekte des Laufes bei Susi angegriffen und verbessert und das Resultat sieht man jetzt.“
